Corrective Measures (2022) Full Recap
The lobe is a freak that can read minds. In a world where superhumans go around using their powers to commit crimes, a group of gangsters kidnap an assassin named Jack and torture him for not completing a job they gave to him. Jack pleads for mercy, but the angry gangsters don't listen to him. As they talk about what they'll do to him, a vigilante named Payback shows up at the scene and tries to kill all the gangsters.
Interestingly, one of them seems to be bulletproof. And as Payback shoots him, he doesn't get hurt. Payback eventually beats the bulletproof man in a fist fight. And after this, he kills the last gangster who looks like a werewolf. Jack looks relieved and thanks Payback for helping him.
However, Payback says he didn't want the gangsters to kill Jack because he wanted to be the one to do it. Jack looks scared and confused, but Payback talks about how Jack killed his daughter in the past. He adds that he died with his daughter, and all that's left now is just Payback. Almost immediately, Payback realizes that the cops are on their way to the scene, and Jack tries to plead for mercy.
Payback doesn't care about this and he kills Jack before surrendering to the cops. With the activity of superhumans in the city now at an all-time high, many of the regular citizens protest against having these individuals around. To support this, the US military declared martial law to deal with the enhanced individuals. The government also made efforts to ensure that all dangerous superhumans are arrested and sent to a dangerous maximum security prison called San Tibberon.
Live covering the raid on super villain the low. A while later on the news, two reporters, Sarah and Glenn, announced that Payback has just been sentenced to life imprisonment in San Tibon. The reporters also talk about how Payback is popularly known for being a vigilante who has killed over 50 criminals. Even though a couple of people appreciate Payback's efforts, the vigilante will still have to spend the rest of his life in Santibon, which is under the control of a warden named Walton.
On the news, Walton is contacted via video call to comment on the situation. Just as Walton gets connected live, he corrects Glenn and Sarah by telling them that he's the overseer of Santibberon, not a warden. Glenn then asks Walton about the accusations of inhumane treatment of the inmates at Santibon. Walton says his approach cannot be considered inhumane because the prison is filled with people who cannot be called humans.
He adds that there are different kinds of superhumans in the facility. And Sarah asks about one of them called the lobe only have misdemeanor. Walton says the lobe is a freak that can read minds but that at Santiron the powers are now useless. Walton also brags that no one knows what it takes to do his job.
Sarah then asks Walton about his thoughts on the people who often refer to Santibon as a pressure cooker. Walton says he doesn't see it as a bad thing because he still hasn't recorded any escapes since he started running the prison. As Walton continues talking about how no one can escape from the prison, Sarah interrupts him and asks why superhumans who committed minor crimes are also forced to go to Santibberon. Walton seems pissed because he doesn't like his authority being undermined and he just ends the call.
As he laments that Sarah was trying to tell him how to do his job, his assistant Felicia informs him that new inmates are on the way to the prison. Shortly after, the new inmates arrive and Payback happens to be one of them. As they walk into the prison, one of the old inmates, Diamond Jim, sees Payback and says he can't wait for the vigilante to come into the yard so they can settle their differences. Payback doesn't seem scared of Diamond Jim, and he just follows his fellow new inmates into the main building.
There they meet an arrogant guard named Morales and another one named Dany. The inmates happen to be wearing special devices on their legs called Nullies. These devices keep their powers in check and ensure that they are powerless inside the prison. As Morales scans the new inmates to find out more information about them, she sees one of them named Diego, who is an empath.
Morales finds this funny and jokes about how Diego's powers are useless compared to the others in the prison. Diego Diaz. She eventually proceeds to scan Payback and all the guards seem to know who he is. Dany tries to act tough in front of Payback, but the vigilante scares him. Morales doesn't like this and she punches Payback out of anger.
She also mentions that she has super strength and hopes he won't try anything funny. Just then, the leader of the guards, Captain Brody, leaves his office and tells Payback to stand behind a line. Payback refuses to do this, but Brody zaps him by controlling the nully through the tablet. He then tells the inmates that he wants them to understand that they're not at Santibon for rehabilitation.
He says they're there to be punished and they'll probably die in prison. After this, the inmates are given some items before heading to their cells. A few minutes later, they all head to the yard and Payback quickly pushes Diego out of his way so he can confront Diamond Jim. Diego looks scared and stands next to another inmate named Tweety who mentions that the fight won't end well for both men.
Interestingly, Diamond Jim seems pissed that Payback killed his brother, who happens to be Jack. As they start fighting, Walton enjoys watching them through the camera in the yard, and he doesn't tell his guards to break up the fight. Before Payback can kill Diamond Jim, Morales and Dany zap them and separate the fight. The two men are eventually taken away and Diego asks Tweety who he is.
Tweety then introduces himself and says that people often call him the conductor because he has the power to control electricity. He talks about how he used to be really popular and how he was one of the first inmates in San Tibberon. After this, he offers to give Diego a tour. And as they go around the prison, he shares some tips that will help Diego during his stay at Santion.
He tells Diego to always keep his nose clean, mind his business, stay away from trouble, and never borrow anything from other inmates. As they continue walking around, they see another superhum named Darius, and Tweety introduces Diego to him. Diego tries to shake Darius's hand, but Darius looks confused. hours. Definitely an experiment in what worked.
He then tells Tweety to be careful because Diego could get him killed. After Darius walks away, Diego asks if it's true that the inmates are always experimented on. Tweety says it used to happen a while ago, but no one does that anymore. Diego then asks if the lobe is around, and Tweety looks scared as he confirms this.
He says that the lobe is probably never getting out because of how powerful he is. He adds that the lobe is the last person Diego wants to mess with because without the Nully, he's unstoppable. So, uh, has anyone ever made a break for it? Elsewhere, Felicia goes to Walton's office to inform him that it's time for the Loe's parole hearing.
When the Loe sits in front of the court in a dark room, he doesn't seem interested in getting released as he repeatedly annoys Walton and the others on the panel. His parole is denied, but he doesn't seem bothered. Almost immediately, Walton shows up next to the lobe and talks about his upcoming retirement. He says he wants the lobe to transfer his fortune to him so he'd have a great retirement.
Schedule another psychological evaluation. The lobe looks confused, but Walton insists that if he doesn't get what he wants, he'd have to torture the lobe. Following this, the lobe agrees to do it, but he says there are some things he wants first. Walton looks disgusted by this, and when he returns to his office, he tells Felicia that he can't just let the lobe get away freely.
Felicia reminds him that he'll soon retire, and he implies that it doesn't matter. He also jokes that he's sure Felicia will miss him. Meanwhile, in the infirmary, a doctor named Isabelle checks up on Payback and some other inmates while they're still unconscious. Morales happens to be in the room and as Diego walks in for his cleaning shift, she seems pissed that he's staring at her.
Diego looks confused and immediately focuses on his work. Isabelle then tells Morales that she doesn't always have to be hard on the inmates. Morales doesn't think she did anything wrong. And as she leaves the infirmary, he is regenerating and I'm studying him. Isabelle introduces herself to Diego.
She says she's not like Morales and that Diego shouldn't let the arrogant guard get to him. As they shake hands, Morales returns and tells Isabelle that it's time for her to check up on the lobe. Following this, Isabelle heads to the next room to see the lobe. She seems surprised that the lobe is around for a checkup, and she implies that Walton is probably becoming nicer.
She also asks if the lobe knows about Walton's upcoming retirement, and he says he does. As he then mentions that he has been having headaches, Isabelle says it's pretty normal because of the power suppressing substances that are added to the food served to the inmates. Keep mouthing off at them. They're never going to let you go.
Almost immediately, Payback wakes up and enters the room. He knocks Isabelle out and says he'll make the lobe pay for all the billions he stole and all the people who suffered because of him. The lobe doesn't seem moved, but before Payback can kill him, Diego shows up and stops him. A prison guard then quickly comes in to restrain Payback and take him away.
Shortly after, when Diego heads to the cafeteria for lunch, some of the inmates willingly give him their dessert. Diego doesn't understand this, but Tweety shows up and says he's proud of his new friend. of well according to your he adds that everyone knows what Diego did and they're just appreciating him for standing up to payback. Diego looks amazed and as he continues talking to Tweety, Darius comes to the table and says he wants to speak to Diego alone. Following this, Diego follows Darius who commends him for what he did earlier.
Darius then takes him to the front of the lobe cell. Diego looks surprised but the lobe thanks him for what he did earlier. Diego says it was nothing, but the lobe insists that he appreciates what Diego did. He also mentions that he would like Diego to do him another favor by taking Darius's shift in the cafeteria because Darius has a condition called carpal tunnel.
Diego looks confused and says he thought the lobe owed him for helping. The lobe then mentions he wants Diego to be his friend and Darius confirms that his boss is always good to his friends. Diego asks if he can think about it and the lobe tells him not to take too long. Elsewhere, Brody goes to inform Walton about Diego's meeting with the lobe.
Walton looks shocked and Brody asks if he should find out what they discussed. Walton says he'll handle it. And as Brody leaves, Felicia tells the overseer that it's not a smart move to tangle with the lobe. Walton says he'll do whatever he wants and that Felicia doesn't know what it takes to be in his position.
He adds that she's not fit to take over from him, but Felicia says it's not true. He then mentions that he can choose to recommend her to the board as his successor if she helps him. He also says that if she doesn't help him, he'd send a letter to the board calling her out for insubordination. Felicia looks sad when she hears this, but she agrees to do whatever he wants.
The next day, the lobe is served with a metal fork on his tray. Elsewhere, Tweety goes for his parole hearing and talks calmly because he really wants to get out. Unfortunately, Walton manages to frustrate him to the point of lashing out. And his parole is denied. Later that day, in the cafeteria, Tweety looks sad about his parole hearing, and Diego notices that something is wrong.
Tweety doesn't seem to be in the mood to talk about what happened, but Diego still talks about his shift in the cafeteria. Darius eventually shows up to give Tweety a metal fork, and Diego looks confused. Darius also slips a note to Diamond Jim, who reads it and tells his friend that it's time to attack Payback again in the yard. Diego asks Tweety if he's okay, and he says he is.
After Diego stands up to head to the kitchen, Tweety uses the fork to disconnect his Nully. He then finds Diego and thanks him for being a good friend. Diego doesn't understand this, but he says it's a pleasure. Suddenly, Tweety insults the guard in the cafeteria and regains his powers by placing a live wire on his body.
Diego looks shocked, but Tweety immediately takes out the guard and destabilizes all the cameras and generators in the prison. stay here. As the fire alarm starts ringing, Diamond Jim and his gang start a fight in the yard against Payback and some other inmates. Unfortunately, Walton is unable to see what's happening because the cameras are no longer working, and he looks scared that the lobe might be trying to escape. Felicia assures him that everything is fine, and she also helps him restore the cameras.
Following this, the guards zap all the inmates in the yard and take them to their cells. Diego also asks what Tweety is doing, but Tweety just says he'll see his friend around. After he leaves the cafeteria, the guards show up and take Diego away. A few minutes later, Walton realizes that Tweety is responsible for what happened, and he tells his guards to find him.
While Tweety is admiring the view outside the window in the infirmary, Morales finds him and knocks him out. Walton tells her to kill Tweety, and this leaves her shock. Walton insists that it has to be done and Morales punches Tweety to death. Shortly after, it is reported on the news that Tweety fell off the prison roof during an escape attempt.
Walton is called to provide a comment, but he declines and says there's nothing to add. The next day, while Diego was talking to his wife about his plans to get a reduced sentence so he'd be home early, Morales comes over to take him to meet Walton. When Diego meets Walton, the overseer scares him by taking him to the prison's solitary section. He says that inside the cells, time works differently, and inmates are tortured by the room's mechanism, which makes minutes turn into hours, and hours into days.
As Diego looks scared, Walton asks what he has going on with the lobe. Diego then explains that all he did was take a shift for Darius. Walton finds this weird, but tells Diego to always report to him anytime he goes to see the lobe. Shortly after, Walton goes to the Lobe's cell to accuse him of having something to do with what happened the previous day.
The Lobe denies this. But Walton insists that the evil mastermind has to cooperate with him because the next overseer might not treat him so well. The lobe agrees to do what the overseer wants, but he says he'll only give Walton all his money on the day he retires. Walton says he's taking the Loe's money because he's never getting out of prison, and the Lobe says he knows, and that's why he needs Walton.
Before Walton leaves, the Lobe asks for the prison's Wi-Fi password, but the overseer seems pissed and refuses to give it up. Meanwhile, Felicia takes Dany and Brody to inspect the prison's old generators. Felicia says the generators have to be upgraded before Walton leaves in a few days and Dany says he can get a team down there to fix them. As Felicia is about to leave, Brody asks if she really thinks she'll be the next overseer.
Felicia says there's no one better qualified than her, but Brody says it's not about qualifications. He adds that it's a boy club and that he's sure Walton didn't get the job just because he was qualified. It's fine. Felicia seems offended by this and Brody doesn't say anything else.
Days later, Felicia goes to meet Walton to inform him that the upgrade has been completed. She also asks about his recommendation and if he's still talking to the board about making her his successor. Walton ignores the question and says that the selection process takes time. Felicia insists that she wants to know what's going to happen because Walton's retirement is in less than a week.
Walton refuses to confirm anything and he just tells her not to disturb him. Elsewhere, Diego goes to meet the lobe to ask what's really going on because he still doesn't understand why Tweety is dead. The Lobe says he's sorry about Tweet's death, but Diego asks if the lobe just sees him as one of the pieces he can move around. The lobe tells Diego to relax, but he says he just wants to know why he was picked.
The lobe insists that he needs Diego to exercise patience. Possibly. He adds that all the inmates need patience and that Diego just has to sit tight till Friday, which is when Walton will retire. The next day, Felicia finds out that Brody is also in the running to become Walton's successor.
She seems pissed and confronts Walton, but he says he didn't do anything wrong. He adds that Felicia and Brody both have the right to compete for the spot. Felicia doesn't think Brody is fit to run the prison. But Walton believes he's actually perfect because the guards respect him and all the inmates are also scared of him.
Felicia doesn't think this matters, but Walton tells her not to get too fired up because no decision has been made. Shortly after, Morales sees Brody and congratulates him on his nomination to become the new overseer. Brody says nothing is sealed yet, and Morales notices that he's not thrilled about the nomination. Brody says he just has a lot to think about before accepting the role.
Looks different. He then walks up to Diamond Jim to ask if the inmates have anything planned for Walton's retirement. Diamond Jim says he hasn't heard anything, and Brody tells him to make sure he and his boys are on their best behavior when Walton retires on Friday. As Brody walks away, Diamond Jim tells one of his friends that he can't wait for Friday because he actually wants to teach the captain a lesson.
He adds that they'll surely throw a party for Walton. On Friday, Walton arrives at work for his last day. Meanwhile, Brody struggles to understand how the tablets controlling the Nullies now work. Morales then explains that the tech crew did a software update after the generators were fixed.
Brody says it's a smart move, and Morales asks if Walton has passed the torch to him. Brody says he hasn't, and Morales reminds him that it's not too late to reject it. Just then, he heads to Walton's office and meets Felicia. As Walton enters the room, he says it has been really nice working with them, but that he doesn't think Felicia is the right person for the job.
He adds that Brody is now in charge. She's a valuable asset. And he'd advise the captain to keep Felicia on his team because she's valuable. Felicia looks annoyed, and even though Walton notices this, he doesn't seem to care. Shortly after, he heads to the Loe's cell and gives him a tablet so he can send the money just as planned.
Surprisingly, the lobe keeps his word, and Walton looks amazed. Interestingly, the inmates in the yard seem ready for a fight, and as the lobe continues controlling the tablet, their nullies get disconnected. They all regain their powers and start attacking each other. The guards also notice that they can't zap the inmates or get the nullies back online, and this leaves them shocked.
Diego happens to be in the infirmary and as he slowly loses consciousness after regaining his powers, Isabelle helps him. Felicia eventually calls Walton to inform him about what's happening and the overseer looks confused. He then instructs all the guards to go into the yard to stop the fight. Unfortunately, the inmates are too powerful to be stopped and Brody leads some of the guards back into the building so that they won't get killed.
As he runs out of options, he calls Felicia for advice on what to do. Even though she's still pissed about not being Walton's successor, she tells Brody that the entire system is built on to the generator, and a hard reset will bring everything back online. Brody immediately heads down to get it done, but Diamond Jim secretly follows him. Meanwhile, Walton seems happy that he now has a lot of money in his account, but the lobe suddenly mentions that it's funny how Walton uses the same password for the Wi-Fi security system and everything else.
Just then, Walton realizes that the lobe is responsible for what's happening. He seems pissed, but says it doesn't matter anymore because he has already gotten all the money. He adds that he doesn't care if all the inmates want to kill themselves. Elsewhere, Diamond Jim attacks Brody before he can reset the generator.
He then talks about how he has always wanted to kill Brody for being so arrogant. He says the lobe mentioned that he has one of the guards in his pocket. Brody looks surprised, but as he manages to stand up again, he sees a device that is stopping the generators from working perfectly. Almost immediately, he realizes that Dany has been working for the lobe.
Corrective Measures (2022) Ending Explained
And after fighting for a while, he gets the upper hand and kills Diamond Jim. Elsewhere, Walton brags about how the Lobe will remain stuck in prison. However, the Lobe says there's something no one knows about him. He adds that he has a power that people haven't figured out yet. As Walton asks what it is, the Lobe does something to the overseer to make them swap bodies.
Suddenly, the lobe asks what's happening, but Walton just punches him to knock him out. He then picks up the tablet and after the door opens, he instructs the guards to take the lobe to solitary. When Felicia sees him, she says she's surprised he's still alive and that she was starting to become worried. Walton then jokes that she's in the wrong profession because she's a good liar.
Almost immediately, the lobe is taken out of his cell, but he keeps telling the guard that he's Walton. Felicia looks confused and asks Walton what happened. Walton says he has no idea and that it seems the lobe has lost his mind. Felicia then tells him about the generators and how she got Brody to reset them.
Walton commends her and says he's sure she'll make a good lady overseer. Felicia looks surprised, but Walton says he's sure she'll do a good job. Shortly after, Diego meets Isabelle and informs her that he's getting transferred because his powers have been classified as unlikely to change the world. Isabelle looks happy for him and tells him not to sell himself short because a great man once said that empathy can change the world.
Diego asks if Isabelle is also leaving Santion, but she says she's staying because she's still needed there. Meanwhile, Morales checks up on the lobe as he struggles to cope in solitary confinement. After this, Brody quits his job because he no longer feels okay about working at Santion. Felicia also resumes her role as the new overseer and Diego leaves Santion and is taken to another prison.
Overseer Johnson Payback also survives the fight and seems happy because he has killed many of his enemies. Shortly after, Morales leads Darius out of the prison and talks about how Walton's last request was to get him released. She congratulates Darius on his parole and Walton tells him to come into the car. He also makes a call to confirm his private flight to Switzerland.
After Darius enters the car, Walton says it's good to be out. He then takes off his glasses and as he looks in the mirror, he reveals that he's the lobe while the real Walton is in solitary confinement. Darius looks happy that they're out and the Lobe drives away to the airport. With only a few days left before Walton retires from his job as overseer at San Tibberon, he tries to get an evil mastermind named the Lobe to transfer his fortune to him so he can be rich.
Interestingly, the Lobe happens to be 10 steps ahead of Walton. And he hires a few inmates and a guard to work on a plan to get rid of the overseer. The plan works out quite well, and on the day of Walton's retirement, the lobe swaps bodies with him and easily escapes from prison without being noticed, while the real Walton gets to spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement.
