In the '9s, two German nurses, Christa and Manuela, seem excited about an investment idea that will make them a lot of money. As they celebrate in the newborn nursery, they end up carrying some babies around and having a couple of drinks. They soon remember that they're at work, and they quickly try to put the kids back in their beds. Interestingly, they don't seem to remember the exact bed for each baby, and they just place each one on any available bed.

Many years later, a girl named Annabelle goes shopping at a luxury store before heading to a club to hang out with her friends. The next morning, Annabelle's mom, Trixie, comes into her room to wake her up. Trixie complains that Annabelle is always waking up very late, but Annabelle doesn't seem bothered by this. As she looks up, she sees blood on Trixiey's face and freaks out.

However, Trixie tells Annabelle to calm down because it's just the new vampire facelift she got from her cosmetic surgeon. Annabelle seems relieved, but says she thought her mom would quit faceelifts after one of the past surgeries ended badly. It's expensive to be. Trixie says it wasn't so bad, but Annabelle insists that Trixie should be happy with her body the way it is instead of always trying to adjust something.

Trixie seems offended and says she wonders where Annabelle got her brashness from. Elsewhere, at a supermarket, a woman named Carmen attends to a customer at the checkout counter. As she scans the things the man bought, she takes out some of them and complains about how they're terrible products. The man, Ingo, looks confused, but insists that he wants the products, regardless of what Carmen thinks.

Carmen still tries to advise him to go for natural or homemade alternatives, but he doesn't seem to understand why she's trying to make shopping decisions for him. Before he can say anything else, another lady named Aura arrives to take over from Carmen. Ingo looks happy to see Aura because he thinks she's very beautiful. After Carmen leaves the counter, Ingo greets Aura and introduces himself to her.

Aura looks pleased and says Ingo has already met her mom and he realizes that Carmen is Aura's mom. Almost immediately, Aura spots the key to his Porsche and asks if he really drives such an expensive car. Ingo says he does and Aura looks impressed while saying she has never been in anything like that because she's just a little checkout girl. Ingo seems really attracted to her and Aura also appears to like the fact that he's rich.

Hi. Elsewhere, a public relations expert named Olivier arrives at Trixiey's house to suggest a charity cause for the family's grand summer party. Olivier meets Trixiey's kids, Annabelle and Alrech, and Trixie tells them why he's there. Olivier gives a few suggestions on the best groups to help, but Trixie seems more interested in donating to a more fashionable cause.

Annabelle doesn't think Olivia's ideas are bad, and she suggests taking real action instead of always making donations. Trixie seems more interested in making random donations because she wants to become Germany's donation angel. However, Annabelle believes they might be able to help people by going to the slums and actually making a real impact. Olivier doesn't think it's a bad idea, and he suggests a photo op with some gangster kids who will be treated to a nice meal.

Trixie likes this, but Annabelle seems unsure about it. Just as Trixie implies that she doesn't want handicapped kids to be present at the party, she gets a call from her lawyer. While she's on the phone, Annabelle tells Olivia to ignore her mom's opinion about handicapped kids. She says the handicapped kids can also be included because she wants to do anything she can to help.

Almost immediately, Trixie's lawyer tells her something that makes her scream, and this leaves the others confused. Elsewhere, someone also calls Carmen and asks if she has a daughter. Carmen says she does, and that Aura is 25 years old. Meanwhile, Ingo drops Aura off in front of her apartment building after spending some time with her.

Aura's little sister, Rosa, sees this and laments that Aura has come home in different Porsches this week. She asks if Aura has broken up with her cop boyfriend, Yan, who she says is a good person. Just as Aura says she's still with Yan, he arrives and greets them. Aura looks scared and asks if he has been around for a while, but he says he just got there.

He then asks why she's asking, but Aura says it's nothing. Rosa seems disappointed by this, but she doesn't say anything to Yan about the way her sister has been cheating on him. Almost immediately, Aura and Rosa's brother, Sedarta, comes over to tell the girls that their mom is freaking out. Elsewhere, Trixie tells her kids that the lawyer just told her that Annabelle was swapped as a baby.

Annabelle looks confused, but Trixie says they'll likely sue the hospital and make them pay a huge amount of money. Annabelle doesn't look happy, and she says she's so sure she's already with her real family. She says she'd have noticed if she wasn't like them, but that she likes shopping, partying, and doing other things that rich people love. She says those are all signs that she belongs with the family.

Almost immediately, Olivier interrupts them to ask a few questions about the donations. But Alrech tells him to stop because Trixie is clearly in no mood to talk about other things. Annabelle isn't happy about the possibility that she has another family and she goes to spend some time with her dad, Bolo, who is in a coma. Even though Bolo cannot hear Annabelle, she tells him about what happened and says she wants to continue being his daughter.

Elsewhere, Carmen cries as she tells Aura that she's sure they're related. She says she took care of Aura as a baby and bought her many things. Sedarta doesn't seem pleased about the situation and he says it's bad enough that they all have different dads. Aura then mentions that she'll do a DNA test to figure out if she's really Carmen's daughter.

Indian artist. The next day, Aura goes for the test with Carmen and shortly after the results reveal that she isn't Carmen's daughter. Interestingly, Annabelle has also done a test to prove that she's not Trixiey's daughter. After reaching out to the hospital that swapped her as a baby, Aura heads to Trixiey's house to meet her real family.

Trixie welcomes her in and almost pushes Annabelle away. As Aura comes in, Alrech also looks excited to see his real sister, and Trixie talks about how she has a lot in common with Aura. She says they need to celebrate, and Alrech quickly brings them some drinks. Annabelle feels left out, but Aura looks happy to be a member of a rich family.

Trixie says they can all live together, but Annabelle points out that she's technically not part of the family anymore. Trixie doesn't seem to care and she says there's enough room for everyone to live together. Aura then calls herself Annabelle because that's what her parents would have named her. Annabelle seems offended and says that Aura can't just take her name.

However, Trixie doesn't think there's a problem with that, and she says Aura can change her name to Annabelle if she wants. Annabelle cannot believe this. But Trixie and Alrech ignore her and show Aura around the house. Annabelle looks disappointed and heads to Bolo's room. She says it's now clear that they're not related and that Boo is her ex dad.

As she lies down next to him, she decides to call her real mom's number. Surprisingly, Annabelle's mom happens to be Carmen. And as she answers the call, Annabelle doesn't say anything. Carmen immediately realizes that the caller is probably her daughter, and she asks if Annabelle wants to come home.

Annabelle still doesn't say anything, but Carmen continues talking weirdly and making a humming sound. Annabelle looks scared and ends the call because she thinks her real mom is crazy. She then tells Boo that she'll just stay in the house because she cannot live with a crazy mother. After she heads out of Bulko's room, she sees Trixie and Alrech showing Aura some old family photos.

The next day, Olivier starts organizing the decorations for the grand summer party tonight. Annabelle still feels out of place because Trixie is now paying more attention to Aura. That night, when the party begins, Annabelle meets with a friend named Mousie and tells her about the situation. Annabelle also mentions that she thinks her real mom is weird because she doesn't even appear on Google.

Mousie says it's really odd, but that Annabelle doesn't have to worry much about it. Almost immediately, Mousy sees a man named Ben and looks amazed. She tells Annabelle that Ben is a rich tech founder who is very popular. The ladies then call his attention and as he jokes about it, he seems more interested in Annabelle and ignores Mousie.

Shortly after, they all return to the party. And while Trixie is giving a speech about her donations, Olivier realizes that she's reading from the wrong document. Annabelle quickly asks for the original one so she can save Trixie from embarrassing herself. As Olivier gives it to her, Aura snatches it and pushes her to the ground.

She then goes on stage and reads the original speech, which leaves Trixie impressed. After the speech, Trixie introduces Aura to the guests as her longlost daughter, who she calls Annabelle. Of Annabel for the real Annabelle looks offended and heads into the house to pack her things so she can find her real mother. Shortly after, Annabelle finds Carmen's address and heads to the ghetto community where she lives.

Just as she parks her car near Carmen's apartment building, Yan appears to be around and he wonders what someone dressed so well like Annabelle is looking for in the area. Annabelle says she's visiting her mom, but Yan doesn't believe this. He implies that Annabelle is likely a psychiatric patient who escaped from the hospital, but she insists that she's serious. She adds that her mom's name is Carmen and that she got swapped as a baby.

She also talks about how Aura is now living with her old family. Yan still looks confused, but he follows her to Carmen's room. Interestingly, some thieves in the area take advantage of this to steal Annabelle's things from the car. When Carmen sees Annabelle, she looks happy and welcomes her into the house.

She also introduces Annabelle to Sedarta Rosa and a guy named Gno, who she calls her lodger. Yan looks confused and asks about Aura, and Sedarta says she's now with her rich family. Mangaban. Almost immediately, Annabelle gets a call from Trixie, who tells her to come back home. Annabelle says she's not doing that because she's now with her real family.

She also mentions that her new family is great and that she's already enjoying herself. Trixie doesn't believe this and she says that Annabelle cannot survive without her money. Annabelle says she'll get a job and try to make some money, but Trixie believes Annabelle will be back to beg for money in just a few days. Annabelle angrily ends the call and says she just wants to go upstairs to sleep.

She soon realizes that she'll have to share a bed with Carmen, but she doesn't complain. Before they go to bed, Annabelle asks if Carmen knows her dad, but she says she doesn't. This makes Annabelle sad. And after Carmen falls asleep, she looks at her real mother closely to see if they're even alike.

Elsewhere, Aura is having a good time in her new home, and she spends some time jumping on the bed with joy. starts to the next morning. Carmen wakes Annabelle and scares her with a weird costume. Annabelle looks confused, but Carmen says she's leading a protest today against a store that sells clothes made with fur. Annabelle says she knows the store and that she's actually a regular there.

Carmen doesn't think this matters, and as she tells Annabelle to come with her, Jao shows up in his costume and says he's ready to leave. As they head out together, Annabelle realizes that her car is missing. This leaves her shocked and as she looks around, she sees someone using a part of her car as a stand for his drink. Annabelle looks pissed and knocks down the man's drink.

She also accuses him of knowing something about her missing car, but the man just seems annoyed that she poured his drink away. Almost immediately, Annabelle sees Yan and tells him that she needs to find her car. He then invites her to the police department. And when she gets there, he sounds quite arrogant and implies that she's a spoiled brat who knows nothing about the real world.

Annabelle doesn't get this and she also insults him for trying to sound smart instead of finding her car. She eventually says she's leaving because she needs to find a job and Yan jokes about her chances of getting one. After Annabelle leaves the police department, she goes to a few places to apply for the available jobs, but no one takes her seriously because she has no experience. Meanwhile, Aura sees an incoming call from Yan, but she ignores it and sends a text saying she has lost her voice due to a cough.

Just then, Trixie looks excited when she sees a photo of Aura and herself on the cover of a magazine. She says the last donation worked and that they now have to organize more events. Aura looks excited about this and Trixie suggests going shopping because it helps her come up with ideas. After another failed interview, Annabelle starts wondering what to do next.

Jan then calls her to ask for the name of the store where her mom is protesting. As Annabelle tells him, he picks her up and heads to the store. Coincidentally, it turns out to be the same place where Aura and Trixie are shopping. While Yan is trying to stop the protest, Annabelle sees Aura and Trixie inside.

She then sneaks in and hears Trixie telling the store owner that Annabelle ran away from home. She adds that Annabelle isn't even her daughter and that she was glad when Annabelle left. This leaves Annabelle pissed, and she angrily throws a paint fililled balloon at Ara's dress before running outside. Yan grabs her before she escapes, and he seems pissed that she's trying to make things worse.

He then arrests her along with the others. When they get to the police department, Yan pulls up a record of all the past crimes Annabelle has committed. Carmen looks sad that her name isn't even listed for anything, despite all her efforts to fight injustice, and she walks away with Gernno to get some air. Yan and Annabelle feel sorry for them, and they decide to fake a charge to make Carmen think she's going to jail.

This works out well. And after Yan locks Carmen and Jero in the cleaning room, He tells Annabelle that he'll release them later. Interestingly, they now seem to like each other, and Yan tells her that the fur store is going to press charges for €20,000 in damages. Annabelle looks shocked and says she cannot afford it because she's broke.

Yan says the store will try to get the money somehow, and they might even take it from Carmen's wages. Annabelle doesn't want this, and she says she'll think of something. That night, she tries to clean the only designer clothes she still has so she can go to the club to see her friends. As she struggles with it, Rosa comes over to give her some clothes that might fit her.

Annabelle thanks Rosa for this and says she's a good sister. Shortly after, Annabelle heads to the club and meets Mousie and her other rich friends. Annabelle begs them to help her get a job, but they ignore her. Mousie then asks her to cover the bill, but Annabelle says she can't because she's broke.

Mousy and the others cannot believe this and Annabelle decides to leave because her rich friends are only interested in mocking her. On the way out, she sees Ben, who says he heard she's going through a rough time. Annabelle asks if he just wants to mock her, but he says he'd like to offer her a job. Annabelle looks pleased, but Ben says she still has to come to his office for an interview.

Annabelle says she understands and as she leaves, she heads to her old house and sneaks in to see Bolo. She then laments about how her day went and how she couldn't get a job. Meanwhile, Aura complains about the vampire facelift she just did. Trixie looks distracted. And as Aura asks what's wrong, she says she just misses having Annabelle around.

Almost immediately, Yan arrives at the house and Aura looks shocked. She asks what he's doing there and he says he came to give her something for her cough, but he can see that she doesn't need it. Trixie still takes the cough syrup from him. And Aura says she's sorry for not answering his calls.

She adds that things are just so different between them and that she's now a class apart. Jan seems offended and says she can come back to him when she's normal again. Before he leaves, they all hear a strange sound upstairs, and Trixie says there's a robber in the house. Jan offers to take a look, and when he gets to Bolo's room, he sees Annabelle picking up the pieces of a broken vase on the floor.

She begs him not to report her, and he tells Trixie and Aura that there's no one upstairs. Following this, they leave together, and Annabelle shows him how she secretly came in. Annabelle also thanks him for not arresting her, but he says they can still come to an agreement on what she'll do for him. Annabelle asks what he wants and he says she has to pretend to be his new girlfriend to make Aura jealous.

Annabelle reluctantly accepts because she needs a ride home and Yan looks pleased. The next day, Annabelle heads to Ben's office and meets a man in the basement who says she's now employed. Annabelle looks very excited, but she soon realizes that her job involves cleaning Ben's house. Since she needs the money, she agrees to do it.

And even though it seems new to her at first, she eventually gets used to it. A while later, Ben arrives and asks if Annabelle is enjoying her job. She says it's not easy, but that she needs the money. Ben then offers to pay her €20,000 if she agrees to become his professional girlfriend.

Annabelle looks confused, but Ben says he's always busy and that all she has to do is play the role of his girlfriend. He adds that he'll pay her really well, and Annabelle agrees. After Annabelle leaves the house, Yan shows up with her car, and she looks really happy that he has found it. They then take turns driving around the town, and they also enjoy each other's company.

Shortly after, they head to a restaurant where Aura and Annabelle's old friends are having dinner. Aura looks shocked to see them together and as she gets jealous, she goes to confront Yan. Yan doesn't seem to care what she thinks and Aura feels hurt. The next day, Trixie tries to get her kids to play a game with her because she's bored and she still misses Annabelle.

Alrech and Aura don't seem interested in playing with her and as this causes a big fight, Trixie looks frustrated. That night, she heads to Annabelle's new home to see her. Annabelle looks shocked, but Trixie says she just came to say hi. When she enters the house, she meets Carmen and Jero, who greet her well.

After a while, Trixie offers to pay a small amount of money to take Annabelle back home. Carmen says she can't believe Trixie wants to buy her daughter. Trixie says it's not like that, but Annabelle says she's not interested. She adds that she already has a job with a good wage. Carmen and Jero back Annabelle up and mention that she now works for a billionaire to keep things running clean.

Annabelle looks impressed and tells Trixie that she has to wake up early tomorrow. Trixie looks sad as she leaves and Carmen and Jolo tell her goodbye. The next morning, Annabelle and Rosa leave the house together. On the way, Rosa gets bullied by some kids in her class, but Annabelle defends her sister and tells the bullies not to disturb her again.

Rosa thanks her for this and almost immediately she sees Aura sitting with Yan. Annabelle looks surprised that they're back together, but Aura confirms it. Interestingly, Yan doesn't seem happy being with Aura. And Annabelle also looks jealous, but she doesn't say anything. Later that day, Annabelle arrives at Ben's house and sees some roses on the floor.

She looks amazed and follows the roses to the bedroom where she finds new clothes and an invitation to Ben's other house. His driver soon shows up to pick her up and shortly after she arrives at the house. As they sit down to eat, Ben talks about how he has struggled to find love because he's always busy. Annabelle just continues listening to him as she eats the strawberry and cream she was served.

Professional girlfriend. Elsewhere, Yan follows Aura to a restaurant where he meets her rich friends. He doesn't seem to like the expensive meals or the way the other ladies are talking to Aura. He also feels out of place and laments that he cannot believe Aura really enjoys being rich for such simple things.

Almost immediately, Ingo sees Aura and asks if he can join her at the table. Aura doesn't like this, but Yan tells Ingo to take his place because he's not interested in staying anymore. Ara tells him not to leave, but he just ignores her and walks away. Back at Ben's house, Annabelle accidentally cuffs herself to the bed.

And as Ben comes into the room, he gets a call from someone who tells him to come to Los Angeles immediately for a meeting. Ben then tells Annabelle that he has to leave, but that he'll be back in a few days. After he leaves, Annabelle realizes that she's still cuffed to the bed, and she tries to call Ben to come back, but he doesn't hear her. The next morning, Annabelle calls Yan to come to the house to help her.

When he gets there, he breaks in and finds her in the room. After making fun of her for cuffing herself to the bed, she gets a call from Trixie, who tells her about Bolo. Yan quickly drives her to the house. And when she gets there, Trixie says that Boo's condition has worsened. After they get to his room, Trixie apologizes for something she did to him before he was in a coma.

High Society (2017) Ending Explained

Alrech says he doesn't think Bulko would want to hear that and Annabelle talks about all the nice things he did for her as a child. Almost immediately, Bolo passes away and his family looks devastated. Aura also looks sad and says she's sorry for not behaving well since she joined the family. Trixie and the others don't think it's a problem, and they invite her to join the group hug.

The next day, Annabelle packs her things and gets ready to leave with Ben. Rosa says she doesn't want Annabelle to go, but Annabelle says it's important and that Rosa will understand one day. Shortly after, everyone follows Annabelle to the airport, where Ben is waiting to take her away in his plane. Trixie then gives Annabelle a present and says goodbye to her.

Carmen tries to convince Annabelle not to follow Ben, but Annabelle says she has to do it. She then gives Carmen an envelope and tells her not to open it until she's gone. Almost immediately, Annabelle leaves and enters Ben's plane. As he's about to take off, Yan drives really fast in his cop car and tries to stop the plane.

His colleague tells him to slow down, but he implies that he cannot let his true love leave Germany. Jau also opens the envelope and realizes that Annabelle left them a check of €20,000. Meanwhile, Yan is unable to stop the plane, and Annabelle sees the cop car just as the plane takes off. Yan eventually drives back to meet the others and he says he needs to take a walk to clear his head.

Elsewhere, Annabelle notices that there are two other ladies inside the plane. She looks confused and asks Ben who they are and he says they're also his girlfriends. This gets Annabelle pissed and she tells him to turn the plane around. When the plane lands, her family looks shocked, but Trixie quickly points her in the direction Yan went.

Annabelle then enters the cop car and drives into the woods to look for him. When she finds him, he looks shocked and says he thought she'd follow Ben. Annabelle says she has changed her mind, but that she'll have to work really hard to pay Ben back. Yan finds this funny, and they both confess their feelings for each other before heading back to meet Annabelle's family, who will now be staying with Trixie and her kids.

After two babies are accidentally swapped at a hospital, they spend the first 25 years of their lives with different families. The swap scandal eventually makes it to the news, and the girls decide to meet their real families. The change happens to be quite challenging for Annabelle, who moves from living with a rich family to a poor one. Aura, on the other hand, seems quite pleased that she's now rich.

Despite this, Annabelle quickly adapts to her new reality. And much later, she unites both families after making a sacrifice that brings them together.
