Friends Trapped In A Cave For 1000 Years, But They Still Never Aged.

A group of friends gets trapped in a mysterious cave, expecting to find a way out quickly. But as centuries pass, they realize they’re frozen in time, never aging. Now, they must uncover the cave’s secrets to escape.

‘SPOILER ALERT’

A professor named Hopper finds a van in the middle of the woods while he’s doing research to find out what happened to some hippies who went missing in the area around the 1970s. After checking the van, Hopper finds a journal with some pictures and strange drawings.

Since there’s nothing else inside the van, Hopper takes his dog away and walks toward an underground cave. As he wonders what’s inside, Hopper’s dog moves away from the hole. Hopper doesn’t get this, but as he looks up ahead, he sees a cave on a mountain.

He immediately heads there with his dog, and when they get there, he tries to see what’s inside. His dog moves back again, and even though Hopper doesn’t get this, he points his torchlight into the cave. Surprisingly, there happens to be a man standing there with a lamp, and Hopper tries to get him to talk.

He doesn’t get any response, but as he looks closely at the man, Hopper sees that he has a gun. Since he doesn’t know what to expect if he goes inside, Hopper immediately leaves the area and heads home. He then calls one of his students, Jackie, who jokes about how he’s still alive despite going on his research alone.

Hopper says he found the hippies’ van, but there were no signs of them. He then mentions that he needs Jackie to put together a climbing pack for him. He adds that she mustn’t tell his other student, Taylor, because he’ll be upset if he finds out that he’s not being invited on the expedition.

After a while, Hopper arrives home and looks shocked to see Jackie at his house with Taylor. Hopper says he didn’t expect her to tell him, but Jackie mentions that she had a car issue and had to get Taylor to drive her. Taylor asks if Hopper really saw the van, and he says he did.

Taylor then mentions that he has already packed his things and is ready to join Hopper on the expedition. Hopper says he appreciates the fact that his students set things up for him on short notice, but the situation has changed, and he’s going alone. Taylor asks who will watch his back, and Hopper says his dog will.

Taylor can’t believe this, but Hopper says he’s serious about going alone. Taylor still tries to convince him that he can be of help, but Hopper’s mind seems already made up. As he carries the bag they packed for him, Jackie shows him that they have matching stickers, and he just smiles. Taylor then asks if he thinks he’ll find the hippies, and Hopper says it’s possible. He adds that if he’s lucky, he might also find what they were looking for.

Shortly after, Hopper drives back to the abandoned land. He then ties a rope to a rock and throws the other end into the underground cave. As his dog still stays away from the hole, Hopper says it’s not their plan A, and that he only kept the rope near the hole just in case they might need it.

After this, Hopper heads to the mountain and sees that there’s still a man standing inside. He finds this surprising, and even though his dog refuses to follow him, Hopper heads into the cave alone.

After walking for a while, he notices that there’s an invisible wall close to the strange man who seems to be standing still. Even though this leaves him curious, Hopper walks right through it. Two days later, Hopper’s students have not heard from him yet, so Taylor goes to meet Jackie to convince her to come with him to look for Hopper.

Jackie says they can only go if Taylor calls one of his friends, Cara, to come with them because she has an off-road vehicle. Taylor says the Jeep belongs to Cara’s dad, but Jackie doesn’t seem to care. She then calls Cara and gives the phone to Taylor so he can ask for the car and invite her to come with them.

Taylor then asks if Cara is busy, and she says she’s helping her sister, Veeves, with an assignment. Taylor says he has a way to make it more adventurous and get Veeves an A. As Cara asks what he’s talking about, he says he’ll give her more details if she can bring her dad’s jeep to Jackie’s house. Cara agrees to do this, and Jackie looks excited. Shortly after, Cara gets the jeep from her dad, and he jokes that he’s only letting her take it because he likes Taylor.

After they leave the house, Cara picks up Jackie and Taylor, and Veeves starts recording their adventure. As she starts the video, she mentions that she’s recording it to show their ability to solve problems in adverse and unfamiliar situations. Cara finds this funny, and she asks Taylor about their adventure.

Taylor then talks about Hopper and how he’s obsessed with the hippies that went missing back in the 70s. He adds that the hippies went off looking for something called the Fountain of Youth, but they never returned. Just then, Veeves tells Cara that they still have to pick up her friend, Furby, because he’s working on the project with her.

Even though Cara complains about picking up Furby because she thinks he always smells weird, she still stops at his house. Furby’s mom then tells Cara and the others to bring back Furby early because he gets anxious when he’s away from her for too long. After she checks that they have everything they need, Furby enters the car, and they leave his house.

Furby then gives everyone a portable camera that can be attached to their clothes. After this, Jackie asks if anyone will give Furby a rundown of what they’re really up to, but he says he doesn’t need it. A while later, they find the hippies’ van using a satellite map, and as they go through the things inside, Taylor finds an old picture of a family called the Hoppers.

Taylor finds this weird, and as he shows it to Jackie, they realize that Hopper didn’t just come to find some random hippies, and he’s actually there to find his parents. Cara doesn’t know what to think about this, but she just remains silent. Shortly after, Jackie tells Furby to help her pull the trunk open from outside.

As she also pushes it, the trunk opens, but Furby falls to the ground. After she helps him stand up, they see a rope on the floor. Even though no one knows where it’s coming from, Jackie follows it and eventually finds a cave. Since it could be where Hopper went, Jackie heads inside, and the kids quickly follow her. Cara doesn’t look pleased to see Veeves running into a dark cave, but Taylor finds it funny.

As they enter the cave, Furby complains about how no one told him they’d have to enter a cave. He then freaks out when he sees some crickets on the wall, but Taylor quickly holds him and says it’s nothing to worry about. After this, Jackie continues following the rope and tells the others that it goes over a cliff. She eventually sees that the rope has been severed at the top, and this leaves her shocked. Taylor then tells her to leave the rope so he can pull it back, and as he does this, Cara says it seems someone went down but didn’t come back up.

Veeves wonders if someone cut Hopper’s rope, but Taylor says it can’t be for Hopper because it looks really old. Taylor then asks Jackie how far down the cliff goes, and she says she’s not really sure because she can’t see the bottom. Shortly after, they return to the car to pick up the things they might need when they get down. Jackie then tells Furby that he’s the one who will wait and be on the lookout for them until they’re back. Furby asks how long they’ll be gone, but Jackie says she’s not sure.

Just before they enter the cave, Taylor gives Furby a radio he can use to communicate with them. Furby says he can just yell if he wants to say something, but Taylor tells him to hold it because they don’t know how far down they’ll go. After Taylor enters the cave, Jackie tells Furby that they’re counting on him.

He asks what for, and Jackie says she feels it’s better to say that instead of telling him not to screw anything up. Following this, Jackie and Taylor prepare to start rappelling down to the bottom. Cara tells Veeves that she needs to stay focused while doing it, but she mentions that she has done it before.

Cara says they’re in a different situation because there’s no safety instructor to help them if anything goes wrong. Veeves still thinks she’ll be fine, and as she goes to meet Jackie so they can head down together, Taylor tells Cara not to be worried because everything will turn out fine. He also tells her to let Veeves have fun for once.

Cara still looks worried, and Taylor says he has another harness she can use if she wants to come with them. Despite initially being hesitant, Cara takes the harness and decides to go down with him. Just before they start rappelling down, Cara calls on Veeves to say something, but she doesn’t get a response.

This leaves her worried, but Taylor tells her not to be worried because Veeves and Jackie would’ve yelled if something happened. Shortly after, Cara and Taylor start heading down together. Suddenly, they notice that there’s an invisible boundary where the air completely changes and looks like moisture.

This happens to be like the wall Hopper saw in the cave when he entered. After walking through it, the man inside walks away, and as Hopper turns back, he sees a strange light blinking at the entrance. Hopper doesn’t get this, but he suddenly hears a strange sound coming from deep inside the cave. As he looks scared, Hopper tries to run outside, but he trips and falls just by the entrance. When he gets out, he sees that everywhere is dark, and this leaves him shocked because it was just bright a few minutes ago.

He also notices that his dog is missing, and the entire area outside the mountain is now bushy. As he walks to his car, he sees some plants inside and finds this strange. He then tries to start the car, but it doesn’t work. Surprisingly, his ID card that he left in the car now looks really old, and he wonders what’s happening. After he heads down, he sees a jeep parked nearby and realizes that someone else is around.

He then says he’s harmless, and that he’s an archeology professor who came to explore the cave. He adds that his car has a fault, and he only wants to check the Jeep to see if he can find some jumper cables or a car battery. As he then checks the jeep’s trunk, he sees Jackie’s bag inside and recognizes it because they have the same sticker on their bags.

With this, he realizes that Jackie likely came to look for him and is now inside the cave. Following this, he returns to the cave and starts throwing glow sticks on the ground while calling Jackie’s name. As he throws it near the invisible wall, he sees the glow stick floating in the air, and as he tries to catch it, it moves and eventually falls.

Hopper doesn’t get this, but he realizes that something weird is happening inside the cave. Elsewhere, Cara and Taylor get to the bottom and see Veeves and Jackie waiting for them. Cara complains about how Veeves didn’t answer her when she was calling her name, but she says she didn’t hear anything. Veeves and Jackie then walk toward a tunnel at the bottom. Suddenly, they hear a strange sound and immediately run back.

Cara asks what it is, but as they don’t seem to know, she suggests going back to the top and leaving the cave. Taylor says they can’t just leave because of the weird noises, but Cara can’t believe he really wants them to wait there. As she drags Veeves to the ropes, Jackie stops them and offers to go to the top first so that it will be easy to pull them up.

She also says she’ll eventually come back down to meet Taylor so they can find Hopper. Just then, she starts climbing back up, but it turns out that the rope has been severed at the top. She falls badly on the floor and injures her leg in the process. Taylor also injures his hand while trying to grab her. As they realize that someone has cut the rope, Taylor believes it’s Furby.

He then angrily uses his radio to call Furby to stop playing around and drop another rope. Taylor doesn’t get any response, and Cara takes the radio from him and tells Furby to do the right thing by dropping the rope so they can leave the bottom of the cave. Again, Furby doesn’t respond, and Veeves sounds worried that something bad might’ve happened to him.

She also tells the others that she has known Furby for a long time, and he would never do something as bad as cutting the rope to leave them stuck. Since both Jackie and Taylor are injured, Cara says they need to come up with another exit plan. Taylor says their only exit plan is for Furby to stop playing around, but Jackie says that Cara will have to climb back up to throw down the rope.

Taylor doesn’t support this because it’s dangerous, and as they wonder what to do, they hear a strange sound in front of them. Taylor uses the radio again to tell Furby to drop the rope because there’s something down there with them. Surprisingly, he picks up a transmission inside the cave and realizes that whoever is down with them has a radio.

Taylor asks if it’s Hopper, but he hears someone else calling his name for help. This surprises him and the others, and as Taylor asks who he’s talking to, the person says he’s Furby. Jackie cannot believe this, and Veeves also mentions that the voice doesn’t sound like Furby.

Taylor is left confused by this, and as he tells the person to say who he really is, he still says it’s Furby. Taylor immediately picks up his bag and says he’s heading to the other room to see what’s going on. Cara says he can’t just go alone, but Veeves looks interested in following him. Cara tells Veeves to stay back with Jackie, but she says she’d rather follow Taylor. Jackie doesn’t mind being left alone, so Cara follows Taylor and Veeves to the other room.

Jackie watches them from her phone but eventually gets no signal. Meanwhile, Taylor and the others see another entrance to the cave at the top of the room. Interestingly, the light entering the room happens to be moving weirdly, but Taylor says that Furby is likely playing with his flashlight. Cara then climbs a rock to check if she can see what’s at the top. Surprisingly, she sees a severed rope and looks down, only to see something else that makes her tell Taylor to take Veeves to the other room.

Cara looks devastated, and as Taylor asks what she saw, she just keeps telling him to take Veeves to the other room. Taylor then takes Veeves away, but they meet Jackie, crawling to their side. Following this, they return to meet Cara, and as she asks why they’re back, Taylor sees what she’s sad about and tells Veeves to stay back.

Veeves and Jackie don’t get the suspense, and as they use a camera to see what’s wrong, they realize that Furby is dead. Cara hugs Veeves to console her, and as Taylor sees Furby’s rope, he says that someone likely cut it after Furby tried to use it to get down. As they wonder who could’ve done something like that, Taylor sees that Furby’s camera is still working, so he decides to watch the recording.

After he plays it, they see that Furby actually tried to call them, but no one responded. He then walked away from the cave and found Hopper’s rope and his parent’s journal about the Fountain of Youth. As he reads it, Furby mentions that the book contains some stories about how some people tried to find a cave that the natives said contained a special kind of magical healing water.

He adds that there was a queen who sent out several explorers to find the water so she could heal her dying husband, but they all either died or returned empty-handed. He also mentions that the last known expedition was to the exact cave Taylor and the others are currently exploring. Suddenly, it starts to get dark in Furby’s video, and this leaves Taylor and the others shocked because they only just entered the cave a few minutes ago.

Cara thinks it’s a joke, but Jackie says it’s impossible because Furby is dead. As they continue watching the video, Furby mentions that he just checked the journal again and discovered that Hopper’s parents actually came to look for the healing water to cure his sick sister. Surprisingly, the video goes into the next day, and Furby sounds worried that no one will find him in the woods because they lied about where they were going.

The video spans a few more days, and Furby mentions that Cara’s car battery is dead because he forgot to turn off the radio. He adds that the only option he’s left with is to use Hopper’s rope to go down to find his car keys. As Furby slowly goes down with the rope, he sees the sky changing weirdly, and almost immediately, his rope snaps at the top, and he falls to the ground.

Taylor tells Veeves to turn off the video, and after she does this, she says it doesn’t make sense that Furby’s video spanned over a few days even though they left him just a few minutes ago. Cara says they might’ve slept when they got down, but Jackie doesn’t think her theory makes sense. As they argue about what to do, Jackie says that Cara is still the only one fit enough to climb back up, but Taylor thinks it’s dangerous.

Cara then says she’ll do it, and Veeves supports her. Before she climbs up, Taylor gives Cara a GPS beacon that can be used to send out an SOS to anywhere in the world. He says she can use it when she gets to the top, and she says she will. After she climbs to the top, Cara struggles to breathe well and sees that the world looks different. She then tries to get a signal with the GPS beacon, but it doesn’t work.

As she walks around the place, she sees a huge storm heading her way. She also sees a strange object in the sky, and since she doesn’t know what’s happening, she heads back down. She then tells Taylor that everything on the surface is gone. She adds that there are no trees or grasses anymore, and it’s like a bomb went off and destroyed everything. She also mentions the thing she saw in the sky and talks about how hard it was to breathe when she was outside.

As she says that the GPS beacon didn’t work, Taylor says it worked before they entered the cave. Cara still insists that it’s faulty, but Jackie believes she’s lying. Cara asks what she means, and Jackie mentions that she couldn’t have seen everything she talked about because she was only gone for a few seconds.

Cara then gives them her camera to watch the recording, and with this, they realize that she was up there for about 30 minutes. Taylor finds this surprising, and as he plays his camera recording for her, Cara realizes that from his viewpoint, it felt like she was gone for a few seconds. As they wonder what’s happening, Taylor says it seems time is moving differently inside the cave.

He adds that he noticed in Furby’s video that their rope was still attached to the car after several hours. He then says that it was actually the friction over a long period of time that caused the ropes to cut, and it’s not like someone cut them. Jackie cannot believe this, and Taylor explains that the strange light moving at the top is the sun rising and setting.

He adds that it’s the only way to explain how Furby’s video covered more than a day. Jackie looks disappointed to hear this because many days would’ve passed already. Suddenly, Cara starts crying, and Veeves goes to console her. Cara then says sorry to Veeves for bringing her to the cave, but she says it’s not a problem because she knows that her sister will get them out. After a while, Taylor looks for Furby’s radio and discovers that someone smashed it.

This leaves him shocked, and as they watch Furby’s recording to the end, they see that he actually survived the fall and was the one calling for help. Shortly after, though, a caveman appeared close to him and smashed the radio before killing him. They’re all left shocked by this, and Taylor mentions that they need to be careful because there’s someone else inside the cave aside from Hopper.

As Cara climbs up again to see if she can get help, Veeves examines Furby’s video and realizes that time is not just moving fast, but the seasons are also passing by within seconds. She adds that the rising and setting of the sun they’re seeing is not just one revolution, but it’s hundreds. Taylor and Jackie cannot believe this, but Veeves mentions that it’s why the surface looked deserted when Cara went up earlier.

Cara hears them talking about the seasons, and as she asks for more information, a strange object falls into the cave and transforms into a ladder. Taylor tells Cara to climb up with it, but as she does so, she sees a giant spaceman descending into the cave. She immediately runs down and holds on to the others, but when the spaceman enters the cave, he just stares at them.

Out of nowhere, a caveman attacks the spaceman, but he overpowers him and renders him powerless with a strange device he puts around the man’s neck. Taylor and the others are shocked by this, and they run away to find a place to hide. The spaceman still follows them, but he happens to be really slow. Just then, Taylor and the others see Hopper’s parents already unconscious in a strange room. Surprisingly, they also see some cavemen near another unconscious person, who has a gun.

Just as they’re about to run away to hide, the cavemen see them, so Taylor stays back to fight. Unfortunately, he gets beaten up badly, and one of the cavemen smashes something on his head. After the ladies get to a safe place, Cara decides to head back to look for Taylor. When she gets to the room, she sees that he’s already dead, and this leaves her devastated. Just then, the spaceman walks in and goes to take some water from a small pool inside the room.

As he’s about to leave, he stops and decides to help Taylor. Cara doesn’t know what he wants to do, so she tries to stop him from carrying Taylor. He eventually pushes her away and drags Taylor into the pool of water.

Cara tries to stop him from drowning Taylor, but he tells her to wait and watch what happens. Suddenly, the cavemen return to fight the spaceman, and he leaves the pool to attack them. Almost immediately, Taylor wakes up, and as he wonders what’s happening, Cara takes him out of the water. As the spaceman starts fighting the cavemen, he manages to overpower some of them, but they take off his mask. He struggles to breathe well, but Cara helps him pick up a device which he uses to subdue the last caveman.

After this, Taylor realizes that the spaceman can’t breathe without his mask, so he gives it to him. However, the spaceman checks the device on his arm and sees that his time is nearly up, and he won’t make it back to the surface alive. As Jackie and Veeves enter the room to meet them, Cara asks the Spaceman to tell them where he’s from.

He then speaks in a strange language and shows them a recording of the news report of when they went missing. The spaceman eventually dies, but they continue watching a video of someone talking about how humans need to venture into space to preserve the future of humanity because Earth is now fragile. They also learn about a ship called the Ark that can be used to take people to Mars.

After the recording ends, Taylor and the others realize that they’ve been stuck down there for thousands of years. As they wonder what to do next, Jackie says they either need to go to the surface or accept the fact that they’re stuck down there. Before Taylor says anything, he finds Hopper’s bag and says he was likely in the room earlier.

He then suggests going to find Hopper because he’s the only one who would know what to do next. The others don’t think this makes sense, but Taylor picks up a gun and tells them to bring Furby to the room while he goes to find Hopper. As he walks around the cave, he sees a little girl trying to revive the dead cavemen with the healing water, but he ignores her.

Shortly after, he sees Hopper bleeding and realizes that he has been shot. Hopper then says he’s too late because his sister is stuck. As Taylor wonders what he’s talking about, he sees Hopper’s little sister stuck in a time trap in the middle of some explorers who are in a battle with the cavemen. Taylor then sees the fountain and looks happy to see that Hopper found it. Hopper doesn’t seem pleased with his discovery, and he says that the whole cave is actually a system meant to protect the Fountain.

As he adds that each layer moves at different speeds, Jackie calls Taylor to come over to meet them because they need help with carrying Furby. Taylor then tries to carry Hopper to the other room, but the professor says he can’t really go far because he’s injured. Taylor says the healing water is not far away, but Hopper says he won’t make it. Taylor then says he’ll be back for Hopper, but he says he’ll already be dead by then. He also takes the gun from Taylor and says he’ll use it to buy him more time in case the cavemen wake up.

After Taylor leaves, he puts Furby in the healing water and says he hopes it only takes a few seconds, like Jackie’s leg. As they wonder what to do next, the cavemen wake up, and Hopper starts shooting at them. He eventually runs out of bullets and warns Taylor and the others to leave immediately. After they run away, Taylor places the Spaceman’s ladder toward an entrance to the cave. Cara starts climbing first, but when she nearly gets to the top, she sees a pool of water covering the entrance.

As she puts her hand through, a strange creature with big hands pulls her in. Taylor tries to pull her back, but before he can do this, one of the cavemen taps a part of the ladder, and it collapses. Following this, Cara gets pulled in by the creature, and the others get frozen in time.

After a while, some cords are sent into the cave and used to save Taylor, Jackie, and Veeves from falling. As they wonder what’s happening, Cara appears from the top, looking different. She then tells them to allow the cords to pull them into the water. After Veeves and Taylor are pulled through, Jackie asks about Hopper and Furby, and Cara says there’s enough time to save them.

Following this, Jackie gets through the water, and as the cavemen don’t understand what’s going on, more cords enter the cave and move past them. Shortly after, Furby wakes up in a pool of water on a spaceship, and Hopper also appears next to him. As they wonder what’s going on, Taylor, Cara, and Jackie enter the room. Jackie then jokingly asks Furby if he wants to go to Mars. As Hopper is still wondering what’s happening, he sees another pool with his parents and sister.

He looks shocked by this, but Taylor smiles and says they’ll have a lot to talk about. Just then, Jackie tells them that even though they’re not at home, it’s good to see that they’re together again. She adds that a lot has changed in the world, and they’ll have to show Furby and Hopper around. It then turns out that they’re on a spaceship after being saved by some people from the future.

In a search for his parents, who mysteriously vanished in the 70s, Hopper ventured into a strange cave that turned out to be a time trap. Even though he didn’t want his students to come with him because he knew the expedition would be too dangerous, they eventually came looking for him after a few days.

It initially took them a while to understand what was going on inside the cave, but when they figured it out, they worked together to help each other and save Hopper, who eventually reunited with his family on the spaceship.
