The invention of Deronica's jangle. Augustus's magnificent and this this. During a visit to her grandmother's house for Christmas, a young girl looks excited when she sees the flames in the fireplace dancing. As she tells her brother about it, he looks confused because he can't see anything.
The girl insists that the flames are dancing, but her brother just laughs and assumes that she's making things up. Almost immediately, their grandmother enters the room and notices that her granddaughter is looking sad because her brother doesn't believe what she saw. Everything was a lie. Even though her grandson tells her to read them a popular Christmas story, the woman says it's time for a different one.
The kids look excited by this and their grandmother shows them a book titled The Inventions of Geronicus Jangle. Interestingly, the book has an amazing cover and the young girl mentions that her grandmother has never told them the story before. As the young boy also looks amazed, their grandmother says she hasn't told anyone the story before. Following this, she opens the book and begins a story about a great inventor named Geronicus.
Jangles and things. In industrial England, Geronicus is regarded as the greatest inventor of all. And he's also the owner of a toy store called Jangle and Things. The store happens to be very popular and many people visit the place regularly to admire and buy some of Gironicus' amazing inventions.
Geronicus also has an apprentice named Gustiffson who aspires to become a great inventor one day. Whenever people come to the store, Gustiffson takes advantage of this to show them his invention called the twirly whirly. Then his most trusted apprentice. One day while showing some customers the twirly whirly, the device initially flies well before it malfunctions and gets broken.
Gustoson looks disappointed by this and he wonders if he'll be able to fix his twirly whirly. Meanwhile, Geronicus leaves his office and shares some of his latest inventions with the people at the store. Almost immediately, a delivery man arrives to drop off a package for Geronicus, who looks pleased because it contains something special that can change his life and make him extremely successful. He looks so happy that he dances around with his wife Joanna and his daughter Jessica, who he also promises to give whatever she wants.
After this, Geronicus heads up to his workshop to open his package and continue working on his big invention. On the way, Gustiffson asks Geronicus to take a look at his twirly whirly and give him some ideas on how to make it better. Geronicus just asks a few questions about the parts and if Gustiffson has done some of the things he advised earlier. Gustafson seems more interested in getting Gironicus to take a look at it, but the great inventor says he'll check it tomorrow. and and and and I Gustafson looks disappointed because Geronicus never checks his work, but he doesn't say anything else.
After Geronicus enters his workshop, he looks at his book of inventions and tries to figure out the best way to achieve his goal as he appears to magically write something in the air. Jessica enjoys seeing him do this. Just then, Geronicus opens the package and sees an object containing a special liquid required for his latest invention to work. After he puts one drop of the liquid into his big machine, it ends up going into the body of a robot doll that Gironicus created.
Almost immediately, the liquid brings the robot to life, and he introduces himself to Gironicus as Don Juan Diego. Gironicus and his family look amazed by this, and Diego says it's an honor for them to meet him because he's really special. Geronicus then tells Joanna that everything he promised her will now be theirs and she says she believes in him. As Jessica also says she believes in her dad, he gives her a pair of inventor goggles.
Jessica looks excited by this and as Geronicus calls her an inventor, Gustapson walks in and looks disappointed. However, as he sees Diego talking, I used to be in hell you. He seems impressed and commends Geronicus for bringing it to life. Diego then tells Gustiffson to stay back because his clothes stink.
Gustiffson ignores this and continues looking at the robot and Geronicus says there will soon be millions of them for every child in the world. Diego doesn't seem happy when he hears this because he believes he's supposed to be one of a kind. As he mentions that he would like to talk about it, Geronicus just tells Gustiffson to take care of the robot while he and his family head down to celebrate. Gustiffson tries to get Gironicus to look at his twirly whirly again, but his boss just walks away.
Gustiffson looks disappointed again, and as he says, he's also an inventor. Diego mentions that he's a stinky one. Gustiffson feels bad about this, but he just ignores Diego, who realizes that Geronicus really has a plan to mass-produce more dolls like him. Diego doesn't seem happy about this and he tries to convince Gustapson to steal Gironicus' book of inventions.
So he can become a famous inventor. Gustiffson says that would be stealing. But Diego mentions that they'll only be borrowing the book indefinitely. He adds that he and Gustiffson will build their own empire and become famous. As Gust of Sin thinks about this, he realizes that Diego has a point and he decides to steal the book of inventions.
Shortly after, Geronicus brings some food to his workshop so he can celebrate with Gustiffson. However, he notices that his apprentice has left the store with Diego and his book of inventions. This leaves Geronicus devastated and even though he reports to the police inside just doesn't cuckoo. His allegations are dismissed because he has no proof that Gustiffson stole his inventions.
Despite this, Geronicus refused to give up, but things didn't feel the same way because he lost his magic and couldn't do things like he used to. Gustiffson, on the other hand, became famous and extremely rich with Geronicus' inventions. After a while, Joanna dies and her loss proves to be too much for Geronicus to bear. Jessica tried to fill the void left by her mom, but her dad just neglected her.
As he grew more distant from her, he decided to let her leave because he felt she was better off without him. 30 years later, Jangle and Things and what the floor now happens to be a pawn broker shop, and Geronicus doesn't have any interest in becoming an inventor again. One day, a woman brings in her clock for him to fix. And as Geronicus looks at it, his new assistant, Edison, mentions that he's sure his boss will fix it because he's a great inventor. Geronicus says he's just imagining things.
And after the woman leaves, he also sends Edison out of the shop for repeatedly talking about inventions, even though he has made it clear that he's no longer an inventor. Shortly after, a postwoman named Miss Johnston arrives at the shop and turns on the lights. I'm sure he's in a better place because she thinks the place is too dark. Interestingly, it turns out that Johnston likes Geronicus and has been trying to get him to go out with her, but he keeps ignoring her advances.
She even tries to lift his spirits by singing and dancing around the shop, but Geronicus doesn't appreciate this. After she delivers his letters, a banker named Deloqua arrives at the shop to speak with Geronicus. During their conversation, he tells Geronicus that the bank will seize his shop and everything he owns if he's unable to pay up his loan or come up with something revolutionary. Geronicus then tries to show Delaqua some of his latest inventions, but the banker doesn't seem impressed because none of them look presentable.
Geronicus looks disappointed by this and as Deoqua leaves, he starts wondering how he'll come up with something revolutionary before Christmas. Almost immediately, he remembers something Jessica was working on before she left, and he goes to check for the power source in an old box. After he looks at it, though, he starts thinking about his daughter. He then decides to write her a letter, as he has wanted to do for many years, but he still struggles to put down the right words on the sheet of paper.
Elsewhere, Jessica now happens to be older. And she has a daughter named Journey, who likes creating things like her grandfather. Journey has always wanted to visit Geronicus, but Jessica says she'll only be able to go there if her grandfather invites her. One day, a letter from Gironicus arrives and Jessica agrees to let Jouri visit her grandfather.
Jouri looks excited about the trip, but when she gets to the shop, she realizes that Geronicus is now a pawn broker. The shop also happens to be closed, and Journey asks around for Geronicus. She's then informed that Geronicus is buying some things near his shop. Journey looks excited as she runs to meet him.
But Geronicus doesn't believe that she's really his granddaughter. Even after showing him the letter Jessica sent her with, Geronicus still refuses to believe that she's his granddaughter. Jouri says she is, but he tells her to stop following him. Journey says she has nowhere else to go, but Geronicus doesn't care about this.
After [snorts] he enters the shop and continues working on the power source for the invention he's working on, Jouri makes her way in without his permission. He looks surprised to see her again, but she just gives him an old picture of Jessica wearing her inventor goggles. Geronicus looks pleased to see this, and he talks about how Jessica really loved her goggles. He also realizes that Jouri is really his granddaughter, and he agrees to let her stay if she signs a contract, saying she won't touch, move, or take anything from the shop.
Sign right here. Jouri doesn't have a problem with this, and as she tries to sign with his pen, she complains that it has no ink. However, Geronicus tells her to continue writing her name, and as she does this, he shows her that the pen has invisible ink. Journey looks amazed by this and she also picks up the power source to ask what Gironicus is doing.
Gironicus just collects it from her and tells her to go to the room where she'll be staying. Before she heads there, she hugs Gironicus and looks excited to be with him. After this, Geronicus continues working on the power source because he really wants to try to make something revolutionary. Elsewhere, Gustiffson invites some guests to his toy factory to unveil his twirly whirly.
During the event, the twirly whirly suddenly malfunctions and attacks someone while flying around, and this leaves Gustoson disappointed. When he returns to his office, he laments about the incident, but Diego shows up and insults him. Toy Mcry here. Toy here. Gustiffson seems pissed by this and he mentions that he would have made multiple dolls like Diego if he hadn't burnt the designs.
Diego tells him to come up with something else, but Gustofson says there are no new ideas in Geronicus' book of inventions. Diego says he has to go back to steal more ideas, but Gustiffson doesn't think Geronicus has anything that can help him. Diego then mentions that a great inventor will always have great ideas, and Gustiffson decides to spy on Gonicus for a while to see if he'll find anything new. The next day, Jouri tries to figure out what Geronicus is working on, but he just tells her to focus on her chores.
Jouri doesn't do this, and as she moves close to his table, she sees him writing down an equation she knows. Geronicus looks shocked by this, and as he shows her some other equations, Jouri still happens to know them. Geronicus says she must have gone through his notes, but that he believes there's something she doesn't know. as he writes down another equation. The other one.
Jouri says there's something missing. She then imagines magically solving the equation in the air just like her grandfather used to do. Geronicus asks if she can see something in the air, but Jouri just asks if he can't see it. Geronicus looks disappointed by this and he just walks away.
Jouri feels bad for her grandfather and she starts wondering why he doesn't want her help. Despite this, she seems bent on helping him and fulfilling her goal of becoming an inventor. She then looks at the table and sees a drawing of a robot called Buddy 3000, which is inside Jessica's old book. Shortly after, she finds Geronicus's secret workshop.
And as she looks around, Edison also shows up there. Journey quickly hides behind a white cloth, and this scares Edison because he thinks she's a ghost. after she eventually leaves her hiding spot. She introduces herself to him and Edison also says he's Gonicus' trusted assistant. He then asks if Jouri would like to be his apprentice, but she doesn't seem interested in this.
Shortly after, they find Buddy, and Edison says he didn't know Geronicus had such a wonderful invention in the workshop. As they realize that Buddy isn't working, Jouri says she'll fix him. But Edison asks why she thinks she can do something Geronicus couldn't do. Jouri then says there's nothing that says she can't do it.
Following this, she grabs the power source and puts it into Buddy. The robot doesn't work and Jouri and Edison start wondering what's wrong. Almost immediately, the power source gets activated and Buddy comes on. The kids look scared when they see this and while trying to hide, they scatter a few things in the workshop.
Buddy also seems scared, but Jouri realizes that he's harmless. She then asks Buddy why he didn't work for her grandfather, and he says he has always worked, but that he only needed someone to believe in him. Journey then realizes that Buddy didn't work because Geronicus never believed it could. As Jouri says she believes in him, I don't want to die.
Buddy starts flying and Edison looks shocked, Jouri also begins to fly. And as Edison gets lifted off the ground, he looks shocked and scared. However, Jouri just tells him that it's fine. Interestingly, Gusten happens to be spying on the shop. And as he sees this, he and Diego look amazed.
Shortly after, Geronicus hears strange sounds in his workshop. And when he gets there, Buddy and the kids suddenly get back down. As Geronicus sees that the kids moved Buddy from its original location, he complains about this, but Jouri mentions that the robot actually work. Geronicus doesn't believe this, and he says he would do anything to see it work.
Almost immediately, Edison properly adjusts the power source, but Buddy doesn't come on again. Gironicus believes the kids were messing with him, but Jouri says he just has to believe. Edison also says that Geronicus is really a great inventor, but he insists that he's not. He then sends the kids away from the workshop, but as Jouri tries to get him to change his mind or massproduce it, he shouts at her to leave.
After this, he looks disgusted at himself and starts thinking about how his life could have been much better. Later that night, while Jouri is sitting outside the house, Gustiffson suddenly sits next to her. He then tells her that he knows there's something spectacular inside the shop and that he could help Geronicus mark it or mass-roduce it. Jouri says that Jangle and Things is just a pawn shop, but Gustoson insists that he thinks there's something special inside.
Jouri seems tired of talking to him, and she says she has some things to mark down in the shop. As she's about to walk away, Gustiffson angrily grabs her but immediately realizes that he shouldn't have done that. He then leaves her to return to the shop. The next day, Gironicus starts planning to sell all his things and move out of the shop by Christmas before the bank sends him away.
He then begs Johnston to come back later in the day to help him pack some of his things. Only they've all gone for the holidays. Johnston still continues to flirt with him, but as he rejects her advances yet again, she angrily drives away. Suddenly, Jouri starts throwing snowballs at Geronicus to get him to play with her.
Geronicus doesn't have a problem with this, and he also starts throwing snowballs at her. Meanwhile, Gustiffson sees that Geronicus isn't at the shop, so he goes inside to meet Edison. Shortly after, Geronicus and Jouri return to the shop and notice that Edison isn't around. Geronicus says he has probably gone out to play.
But as Jouri looks around, she sees his pair of glasses on the floor. This feels strange to Jouri and she eventually finds him tied up in the workshop. Jouri quickly helps him and asks what happened and he tells her that Gustiffson stole Buddy. Jouri then says that they need to go to Gustiffson's factory to retrieve Buddy.
Edison doesn't sound sure about this, but Jouri encourages him to sneak into Johnston's van. Which is headed to the factory. Shortly after, they reach the factory and leave the trunk of Johnston's van. They then quickly find their way into the building through a large passage with a huge fan.
After a while, Geronicus realizes that his granddaughter is missing and he goes around asking if anyone has seen her. Suddenly, he sees a poster showing that Gustiffson is planning to unveil Buddy to the guests at his factory. Geronicus looks shocked by this, but he realizes that Jouri likely went there to get Buddy back. Following this, he sees Johnston back in the town and he begs her to take him to the factory.
Elsewhere, Gustiffson unveils Buddy to his guests, but the robot doesn't come on and everyone looks disappointed. As they all leave, Gustiffson feels embarrassed and tells one of his guards to throw Buddy into the crusher during this holiday season. Jouri and Edison hear this and they start thinking of a way to save Buddy. Shortly after, Jouri creates a distraction to get the guards to chase her while Edison escapes with Buddy.
One of the guards eventually goes to tell Gustiffson that some kids broke in to steal Buddy. Gustoson doesn't seem to care about this because he thinks it's worthless, but Diego says that no one would try to steal something if it weren't valuable. Following this, Gustiffson tells his guards to lock down the facility and stop the kids from leaving. On the way back to the large passage, they accidentally set the storage room on fire.
Unfortunately, the fan also gets powered up and the kids realize that they're stuck. Meanwhile, Johnston distracts the guards at the factory so that Geronicus can go in. Just as he gets to the front of the vents, he realizes that the kids are there and they tell him that they need to find a way to go through the blades. Geronicus says it's impossible, but Jouri tells him to use his formula for the square root of possible to find a way to get them out.
Geronicus says it's only a theory, but Jouri still tells him to try it. That's it. As he then imagines writing the equation in the air, his magic returns, and he looks amazed. After he's done solving the equation, he tells the kids what to do to get out. And Edison also gets the crate containing Buddy to move them fast toward the blade.
Luckily, they're able to make it out alive, and Geronicus looks proud of them. He also calls Edison an inventor for coming up with a good idea. Almost immediately, Johnston shows up to take them back home, and Geronicus looks happy to see her. As they leave the factory, Gustiffson looks disappointed that he couldn't catch them.
After a while, Johnston drops them off at the shop. And as Edison is about to head home, Jouri thanks him for helping her. Geronicus also asks why Johnston came back to help him, and she says it's because he's a good man. She adds that she knows what it's like to lose something, and Geronicus needs to understand that his magic is still in what he has.
Geronicus looks impressed by this, and he thanks her for helping him. He also acknowledges her interest in him and she looks really happy as she drives away. Much later, Geronica sees that Buddy got dismantled while the kids were moving the crate and he says he doesn't think he can fix it. However, Jouri says she's sure he can do it because he's the greatest inventor of all.
She adds that she came to Jangle and things because of him. Geronicus says she came because her mother wanted her there. But Jouri mentions that she wrote Jessica a letter from him telling her the same thing. Geronicus looks shocked and asks why she did something like that. And she says it's because she has always heard her mom talk about how magical Jangle and things is.
She says she likes being there because it's the only place where she feels like she belongs. Geronicus then mentions that a child with an imagination always belongs and that Journey should never be afraid when people can't see what she sees. The greatest inventor of all. He adds that she should only be afraid when she no longer sees it.
Jouri then hugs her grandfather before he takes Buddy to his workshop. While he's trying to fix Buddy, Jessica arrives at the shop to pick up Jouri for Christmas. Geronicus looks shocked to see her and he says that he has really enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He adds that she's quite the inventor and Jessica says she got that from him, Jessica doesn't seem interested in talking about inventions, but as she's about to leave the workshop, Geronicus says sorry for neglecting her.
Jessica then talks about how he made her feel and that she even waited for him to send her a letter. Almost immediately, Jeronica shows her the letters he wrote, but never sent because he always felt bad about how she left. He adds that he was disappointed because even though he was regarded as a great inventor, he wasn't a great father. Jessica then forgives him and says that she and Jouri will stay with him for Christmas.
Not just read about a happily ever after. Geronicus looks happy about this and Jessica joins him in trying to fix Buddy. In the morning, Jouri looks pleased to see her mom. And Geronicus mentions that he had a lot of help from her in fixing Buddy. As he gets ready to try it, he seems hesitant because he's not sure it will work.
But Jouri tells him to believe. Following this, he inserts the power source into Buddy and closes his eyes while saying that he believes. Just then, Buddy comes on and Geronicus looks happy about this. However, he suddenly hears someone calling his name outside the workshop and he realizes that it's the police who are there with Gustiffson.
Interestingly, it turns out that Gustiffson has reported to the police that Gironicus stole Buddy from him as the cops grab Gironicus. Jouri says that Gustiffson is the real thief. Gustapson says he can't be the thief because he has Buddy's original design. Diego also backs him and says that they spent restless days and sleepless nights working on it.
Proof. Jouri finds this funny and she just takes the design from him. She then shows the cops what she wrote on the design with invisible ink. The cops look shocked by this and one of them tells Gustapson to explain what's happening. Gustapson looks speechless, but Jouri explains that when he came to her the other day, she was afraid that he'd try to steal Buddy.

The girl also asks why her grandmother didn't tell them before and Jouri says she had to wait for the right moment when she knew they would be ready for magic. Suddenly, Buddy shows up from behind the Christmas tree and the kids look excited. Jouri also shows them Geronicus' new factory which is close to her house. As she says that it's time they paid a visit, she and the kids suddenly start flying toward the place.
